«Calamarí» is the historical novel by Emilio Ruiz Barrachina, published by Zeta Bolsillo in paperback, with 432 pages, in Spanish.
The novel is set in Calamarí, the indigenous name for Cartagena de Indias, and follows the life of Lorenza de Acereto, daughter of the pirate Drake and considered the first white witch of the Americas. Her trial by the Inquisition is due more to her knowledge, such as reading and writing, than to her witchcraft practices.
