«Caída y auge de Reginald Perrin» is the humorous novel by David Nobbs, published by Círculo de Lectores in paperback (352 pages, in Spanish).
Reginald Perrin, a middle-aged sales executive, drags through a grey life: his job at Lucisol Desserts feels alienating, his boss is unbearable, and his family exhausts him. Taking refuge in fantasies that lift him from daily tedium, he eventually makes a radical decision: to vanish and start over from scratch.
First instalment of the two novels in the Reginald Perrin series. The work inspired a television comedy.
David Gordon Nobbs was an English comedy writer, most notable for writing the 1970s television series The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin, adapted from his own novels.
