«BZRK» is Michael Grant's young adult science fiction and suspense novel, in hardback (416 pages, in English).
In the near future, the conjoined Armstrong twins, behind the facade of the Armstrong Fancy Gift corporation, aim to impose their version of utopia through nanobots. Against them, the BZRK guerrilla uses DNA biots capable of neutralizing the bots, though their use threatens the mind of whoever hosts them.
BZRK is the first novel in Michael Grant's eponymous series, originally published in English in 2012.
For young readers aged 12 and up, with a taste for action and adventure plots.
Michael Grant was an English classicist, Professor of Humanity at the University of Edinburgh, numismatist, and author of numerous books on ancient history. His 1956 translation of Tacitus's Annals of Imperial Rome remains a standard of the work. Having studied and held a number of academic posts in the United Kingdom and the Middle East, he retired early to write full-time. He once described himself as "one of the very few freelancers in the field of ancient history: a rare phenomenon". As a populariser, his hallmarks were his prolific output and his unwillingness to oversimplify or talk down to his readership. He published over 70 works.
