«Buen entretenimiento» is the philosophical essay by Byung-Chul Han, published by Herder Editorial in paperback (168 pages, in Spanish).
The philosopher Byung-Chul Han contrasts today's entertainment, which invades every sphere of life, with the Western tradition of Passion, which values work, effort and suffering. Drawing on Kant, Hegel, Nietzsche and Heidegger, he traces the historical forms of leisure and asks whether play and Passion are truly opposites.
Part of the Pensamiento Herder collection, directed by Manuel Cruz; translation by Alberto Ciria Cusculluela.
For readers of contemporary philosophy, aesthetics and social criticism.
