«Biografia de Lot i altres proses» is a collection of narratives by Joan Oliver, published by Edicions de la Magrana in paperback (214 pages, in Catalan).
The stories in the volume offer an ironic and sharp look at the failure of the couple and married life. The Catalan bourgeoisie is portrayed in everyday situations that lead to misunderstandings and degradation, in a critique of the morals and customs of the era.
Second edition, first at Edicions de la Magrana, from 1983, within the collection Les ales esteses (no. 13); the work originally appeared in 1963.
For readers of Catalan literature interested in the irony and social criticism of twentieth-century narrative.
Joan Oliver i Sallarès, also known by his pseudonym Pere Quart, was a Catalan poet, playwright, literary manager, translator, narrator, and journalist. He is considered one of the most important twentieth-century writers of Catalonia.
