«Au secours ! Les mots m'ont mangé» is the literary essay by Bernard Pivot, published by Allary Éditions in paperback (101 pages, in French).
Bernard Pivot evokes the life of a man who, despite his successes as a novelist and the recognition of the Goncourt, has always felt that words devour him. The text is a declaration of love to the French language and a playful homage to writers; the included DVD features the show in which Bernard Pivot read his work.
Bernard Pivot is presented as a member of the Goncourt Academy in this edition, published on 7 April 2016.
For readers interested in the French language, literary essays and writers' memoirs.
Bernard Pivot was a French journalist, interviewer and host of cultural television programmes. He was chairman of the Académie Goncourt from 2014 to 2020.
