«Astérix y el caldero» is the adventure comic by René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo, published by Grijalbo in paperback (48 pages, in Spanish).
A Gallic chief from a neighbouring village entrusts Astérix with a cauldron full of sesterces. When the money disappears, Astérix is accused and banished. To clear his honour, Astérix and Obélix must raise the same amount, in an adventure that satirises justice, the tax system and the presumption of innocence.
Album 13 of the Astérix series. The work was originally published in French as «Astérix et le chaudron»; this Spanish edition is from Grijalbo (1993).
Recommended for readers aged 14 and up, especially those seeking Astérix and Obélix adventures with social satire.
René Goscinny was a French comic editor and writer, who created the Asterix comic book series with illustrator Albert Uderzo. Born in France to a Jewish family from Poland, he spent his childhood in Argentina where he attended French schools and later lived in the United States for a short period of time. There he met Belgian cartoonist Morris. After his return to France, they collaborated for more than 20 years on the comic series Lucky Luke.
