«Astérix y Cleopatra» is the adventure comic created by René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo, published by Salvat in paperback (48 pages, in Spanish).
Cleopatra promises Julius Caesar to build a great palace in three months, and Astérix and Obélix travel to Egypt to help the architect Numerobis meet the deadline. Amid conspiracies and clashes with the Romans, the magic potion proves decisive again in an adventure full of humour and with the hallmark of the Astérix series.
This album is number 6 in the Astérix series. It was originally published in French in 1965; the Spanish edition appeared in 2004.
Suitable for young adult and adult reading; works both as a continuation of the Astérix series and as an entry point to humour and adventure comics.
René Goscinny was a French comic editor and writer, who created the Asterix comic book series with illustrator Albert Uderzo. Born in France to a Jewish family from Poland, he spent his childhood in Argentina where he attended French schools and later lived in the United States for a short period of time. There he met Belgian cartoonist Morris. After his return to France, they collaborated for more than 20 years on the comic series Lucky Luke.
