In the 17th century, in northern Spain, the story intertwines an inquisitor, a witch, and a series of spells. Alonso de Salazar y Frías, a disbelieving inquisitor, is sent to reassure the people in the face of the growing belief in witchcraft. His destiny crosses with that of Mayo, a young woman who sells spells. Together, they must face perverse powers and the loss of their loved ones. This exciting plot rescues the magical tradition of our culture, involving the political and religious elite of the Golden Age, based on a documented historical episode mysteriously forgotten in the archives of the Holy Office for centuries.
