«All'apparir del vero» is Marcello D'Orta's investigation into the death of Giacomo Leopardi, published by Piemme in hardback (168 pages, in Italian).
The author investigates the contradictions surrounding Leopardi's death: the alleged conversion to Christianity, the causes of death and the fate of his remains. Leopardi died at 39 during a cholera epidemic in Naples, although the medical report indicated acute pericarditis; thanks to Antonio Ranieri he was not buried in a common grave.
First edition published in 2012; includes bibliographical references.
For readers interested in Giacomo Leopardi, 19th-century Italian literature and historical investigations.
