«Alí y Nino» is the historical novel by Kurban Said and Isabel Payno, published by Círculo de Lectores in hardback (269 pages, in Spanish).
Baku, in Azerbaijan, at the beginning of the 20th century, is the setting for the love story between Ali Khan, a young Muslim aristocrat, and Nino, a Georgian Christian princess. Recommended for readers of historical and romantic fiction, with a love story that spans the First World War.
Kurban Said is the pseudonym of the author of Ali and Nino, a novel originally published in 1937 in the German language by the Austrian publisher E.P. Tal. The novel has since been published in more than 30 languages. The true identity of the author is in dispute.
