In the summer of 1990, in a dissolving socialist Germany, Maria lives on a farm with the family of her boyfriend Johannes. There she meets Henner, a solitary and enigmatic man, whose seduction drags her into an irrepressible passion. This unsustainable situation unfolds in a rural community marked by distrust. The novel, winner of the Junger Literaturpreis, tells an intense love story in the context of the end of the GDR.
