In 'Alfonso de Borbón habla con el demonio', Carlos Rojas presents us with a fascinating account of the life of Alfonso XII, King of Spain. Through a soliloquy, the monarch shares his concerns, dreams and personal memories, interweaving the history of Spain with his own experiences. The novel delves into an exciting period of Spanish history, reflecting on themes such as love, destiny and the passage of time. Rojas displays his talent to undress the contradictory life of a man who was, in a lucid and sensitive way, the king of the Spaniards.
