«Alejandro Magno» is Mary Renault's biography, published by Comunicación y Publicaciones in paperback (412 pages, in Spanish).
The work traces the life of Alexander the Great, from his rise to power to the campaigns that took him through Troy, Egypt and Persia. It portrays the conqueror as a military strategist and disseminator of political knowledge and social advances, and examines the void left by his death, when his empire fragmented into small kingdoms without his leadership.
Translation by Horacio González Trejo. The original work, The Nature of Alexander, was published in 1975.
For readers interested in historical biographies, classical antiquity and the figure of Alexander the Great.
Eileen Mary Challans, known by her pen name Mary Renault, was a British writer best known for her historical novels set in ancient Greece.
