«À mon frère qui n'est pas mort» is François Léotard's memoir about his brother Philippe (Grasset, paperback, 200 pages, in French).
François Léotard writes to his older brother, the actor Philippe Léotard, an intimate letter about their shared childhood and the public figure of the comedian, who ended up losing himself to drugs and alcohol. He alternates memory with inquiry, the portrait of his brother with his self-portrait, and wonders whether he knew how to love him. This is not a biography.
Philippe Léotard died on 25 August 2001; François Léotard published the book two years later, in 2003.
For readers of memoirs and intimate portraits about the actor Philippe Léotard and his French theatrical and cinematic world.
