«A Lua» is Britta Teckentrup's illustrated children's book, published by Edicare Editora in hardback (28 pages, in Portuguese).
Through a succession of night scenes, the book shows how the moon changes phase while forest animals —foxes, deer, hares and birds— move beneath its light. The rhyming text and die-cut illustrations invite readers to look beyond each page and follow the lunar cycle.
The book was published in October 2017 and its Portuguese edition was translated by Catarina Florindo.
Aimed at early readers and families who want to share, in Portuguese, a poetic approach to the moon and nocturnal animals.
Britta Teckentrup is a German artist. She is primarily known as a children's book author and illustrator, having published more than 70 titles, which have been published in more than 20 countries.
