«We’re Not Jivin’, We’re Jammin» is a various-artists blues compilation, released on CD by Virgin in 1991.
The album brings together blues tracks performed by figures such as Albert Collins, Johnny Winter, Larry McCray, The Kinsey Report and Walter “Wolfman” Washington, with an electric, roots-oriented approach combining sharp guitars, tight rhythms and raspy vocals. It is a representative sample of the sound of the blues scene of the late eighties and early nineties, conceived as a shared session across different styles within the genre.
Compilation released by Pointblank and Virgin Records. European CD edition, single disc.
For those seeking a sampler of nineties electric blues with several notable names in the genre.
