«Vol. 11: Mitridate, re di Ponto» is volume 11 of the Mozart Edition by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, published by Brilliant Classics in a 5-CD box set.
It brings together three Mozart operas: the opera seria Mitridate, re di Ponto (KV 87), the singspiel Der Schauspieldirektor (KV 486) and the one-act singspiel Bastien und Bastienne (KV 50). It contrasts the serious writing of the Neapolitan tradition with salon comedy and the pastoral, in versions with chamber orchestra and symphonic ensemble.
5-CD box set. Includes the complete version of Der Schauspieldirektor, with Peter Schreier, Sylvia Geszty and Rosemarie Rönisch; conducted by Jed Wentz, Helmut Koch and Max Pommer.
For collectors of the Brilliant Classics Mozart Edition and fans of classical opera.
