«Violin Master Collection: Lalo - De Sarasate» is the album with works by Édouard Lalo and Pablo de Sarasate, released by Azzurra Music on CD (2003).
The CD brings together two concertante pieces from the Romantic violin repertoire: the Symphonie Espagnole op. 21 by Édouard Lalo and Zigeunerweisen op. 20 by Pablo de Sarasate, performed by the USSR Festival Symphonic Orchestra under the direction of Pavel Nikitin. The recording, in DDD format, preserves the virtuosity and orchestral colour of both scores.
The CD belongs to the Violin Master Collection series and is marked as a limited edition; the black-and-white cover shows the empty interior of an ornate theatre.
Aimed at classical music enthusiasts and collectors of limited editions of the Romantic violin repertoire.
