«Tongue in Groove» is the contemporary jazz album by drummer Joey Baron, reissued on CD in 2004 by Winter & Winter.
The trio led by Baron, with Ellery Eskelin on tenor saxophone and Steve Swell on trombone, unfolds contemporary jazz where the drums dialogue with the saxophone and trombone. The compositions, almost all by Joey Baron, include a traditional tune arranged by him and two covers; among the 16 tracks are «Blinky», «Room Service» and «Go».
Recorded on May 1, 1991 at Sorcerer Sound (New York) and remastered in 24-bit at Bauer Studios (Ludwigsburg) for this 2004 reissue.
Aimed at listeners of avant-garde jazz and free jazz who enjoy trio formations and Joey Baron's compositions.
