A compilation dedicated to the origins of dixieland: it brings together recordings by pioneering groups such as the Original Dixieland Jass Band, New Orleans Rhythm Kings and King Oliver & his Dixie Syncopators. The repertoire represents the classic New Orleans sound of the early 20th century and allows listeners to hear the musicians who shaped traditional jazz.
For collectors and dixieland enthusiasts who want to approach the repertoire of the genre's earliest ensembles.
