«The Time Of The Sun» is the jazz album by trumpeter Tom Harrell, released in 2011 on the High Note label, on CD.
Tom Harrell composes nine original pieces performed by his quintet: titles such as «Estuary», «Ridin'» and «The Time Of The Sun» show contemporary jazz alternating ballads and intense rhythms. The title track incorporates real recordings of the harmonies produced by the sun's magnetic fields.
Recorded at Systems Two Recording Studio, Brooklyn, on 1 December 2010. The quintet is completed by Wayne Escoffery, Danny Grissett, Ugonna Okegwo and Johnathan Blake. Catalogue no. HCD 7222.
For lovers of current post-bop and quintet jazz with trumpet and tenor saxophone.
