«The Peoples Guide To Opera I» is an opera compilation by various artists, released in 1999 in an 8-CD box set.
Selection of opera pieces performed by Nicolai Gedda, Maria Callas, Gottlob Frick, Franco Corelli, Victoria de los Ángeles and Montserrat Caballé. Includes liner notes and, as the title suggests, is conceived as an introductory guide to opera through classic recordings.
The box uses individual cardboard sleeves and bears the code DB 706502; 1999 European edition.
Aimed at both opera enthusiasts and those approaching the genre for the first time.
