«The Originals - Violinkonzerte» is the album by Joshua Bell with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra conducted by David Zinman, released by Decca on CD.
The disc brings together the Violin Concerto by Samuel Barber, that by William Walton and Baal Shem, a triptych by Ernest Bloch inspired by Jewish spirituality. Joshua Bell's performance combines lyricism and virtuosity in these neo-Romantic works; among its movements stand out «Nigun», «Presto in moto perpetuo» and «Presto capriccioso alla napolitana».
It belongs to Decca's The Originals series. It is an original digital recording from 1997 reissued on a CD with 68 minutes' duration and catalogue number 475 7710.
For classical music listeners who appreciate violin virtuosity and 20th-century neo-Romantic repertoire.
