«The New York Sessions (1929-1930)» is the compilation album by King Oliver, released in 1989 by Blue Bird (Sony Music), on CD.
This CD collects the sessions King Oliver recorded in New York between 1929 and 1930 with his orchestra, between the big band format and the dixieland style. The remastering enhances the brass and the rhythm section, and the programme combines well-known Oliver pieces with lesser-known cuts from that period.
German CD edition of a record, remastered and released by Bluebird/RCA/BMG with catalogue number ND90410.
For fans of traditional jazz, dixieland and late-1920s big bands, interested in King Oliver's historical recordings.
