«The Hobo's Last Ride» is the folk album by Norman and Nancy Blake, released in 1996 by Shanachie on CD.
The American duo reinterprets a repertoire of folk, bluegrass and traditional music featuring guitars, mandolin, fiddle and cello. The title track and «The Old Grey Mare Came Tearin' Out Of The Wilderness» show that crossover between ballads, classic country and rural roots. The cover evokes nostalgia for train travel in the golden age of the railroad.
Single CD with 16 tracks, including «The Democratic Donkey (Is In His Stall Again)» and «Forked Deer». Norman Blake plays guitar, fiddle, viola, mandolin and banjo; Nancy Blake, guitar, mandolin, cello and piccolo mandolin. Recorded in the United States.
