«The Ghost of Tom Joad» is the album by Bruce Springsteen, released in 1995 by Sony Legacy on CD.
The album offers a set of sombre and reflective songs inspired by John Steinbeck's novel The Grapes of Wrath and by the situation of immigrants and the poor in the United States. Springsteen writes in the first person and gives voice to characters he met on his travels across the country, with a folk rock sound.
The edition includes a single disc with 49 minutes of songs in English. The album won the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Folk Album in 1997.
For listeners of singer-songwriter rock and folk, with an interest in narrative albums with a social backdrop.
