«The Early Chapters» is the melodic death metal EP by Swedish band Soilwork, released in 2004 by Listenable Records on CD.
The EP condenses Soilwork's early phase into five tracks: covers of «Burn» (Deep Purple) and «Egypti» (Mercyful Fate), original songs like «Shadow Child», and a live recording. It thus offers a sample of the melodic death metal characteristic of the Swedish group.
European single-CD edition, with catalogue number POSH054. The style combines heavy metal and melodic death metal.
Aimed at fans of Soilwork and melodic death metal who want to discover the band's beginnings.
