«The Country Collection - Mist Blue» is a various-artists country compilation, released by octet on CD.
The CD brings together 20 classic country tracks with performers such as Faron Young, Jimmie Davis, Don Gibson, Connie Smith, Charlie Rich, Porter Wagoner and Slim Whitman. The selection includes representative voices of traditional country; the cover, with a cowboy on horseback herding cattle before a sun, reinforces that aesthetic.
The compilation also includes recordings by Wilma Burgess, Jack Scott, Stonewall Jackson, Rose Maddox, Jack Greene, Leon Ashlep, Bill Philips, Kitty Wells, Narvel Felts and Carl Belew.
For fans of traditional country and anthologies of classic voices of the genre.
