«The Bridge» is the album by Sonny Rollins, released in 2010 by Sony Music on CD.
Recorded in 1962 after two years of voluntary retirement, the album marked Sonny Rollins's return to jazz with a piano-less lineup. Rollins and guitarist Jim Hall lead a quartet with Bob Cranshaw on bass and Ben Riley on drums, in a hard bop repertoire that shows the saxophonist's maturity.
This is a European reissue of a disc in the Original Columbia Jazz Classics series, with catalogue number 88697694602 and the original RCA Victor album cover.
This reissue is aimed at jazz fans and collectors of hard bop classics.
