«Best of the Early Years» is Khaled's compilation released in 2002 by Nascente on CD.
In the 1970s, when Khaled was known as «Cheb» («young») Khaled, these recordings made him famous in Algeria. With a raw, passionate sound, they are the root of raï before its international projection. Includes «Val Nabia» and «Mazal Dabchik».
Compilation curated by Hamid Zagroune; liner notes by Jamie Renton. Total duration: 47:22. Recordings under licence from EMI Arabia.
For those who want to glimpse Khaled's and raï's origins before his international success.
