«The Beach Boys» is the self-titled album by The Beach Boys, released in 1988 by Caribou Records, on CD.
It is the album with which The Beach Boys tried to renew their sound in the eighties: they keep their harmonies and beachy melodies and combine them with synthesizers and synth-pop arrangements, produced by Steve Levine. The album includes catchy songs, although it did not repeat the success of their early work.
This reissue was released in 1988 in Europe under the Caribou Records and Brother Records labels; the original album is from 1985.
For fans of The Beach Boys and collectors interested in their eighties era.
