«Symphony No. 7» is the album by Gustav Mahler with the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra and Michael Halász, released in 1995 by Naxos on CD.
Mahler's Symphony No. 7 in E minor is organised in five movements: it opens with a highly tense «Langsam: Allegro con fuoco», continues with two «Nachtmusik» of contrasting character and a sombre «Scherzo: Schattenhaft», and culminates in a luminous «Rondo-Finale». The version balances Mahler's orchestral palette between the nocturnal, the dance-like and the lyrical.
Recording made in the Concert Hall of the Polish National Radio in Katowice from 28 November to 2 December 1994; catalogue 8.550531; total duration 79'09".
For classical music listeners and admirers of Mahler's symphonic output.
