It brings together two Beethoven symphonies on a single CD: Symphony No. 6 in F major, Op. 68, known as the Pastoral, and Symphony No. 8 in F major, Op. 93. The first evokes rural settings; the second is more compact and rhythmic in character. Performed by the Süddeutsche Philharmonie and the Radio Symphony Orchestra Ljubljana.
CD edition of one disc, with DDD recording, under the Classical Masterworks in Digital label; catalogue number 506.2254-2.
For classical music listeners interested in orchestral versions of Beethoven's symphonies.
