«Suites BWV 1007 to 1012» is the album by Jean Geoffroy performing Bach's six suites on marimba, released by Skarbo in 2013 on CD.
Jean Geoffroy performs Johann Sebastian Bach's six suites BWV 1007 to 1012 on marimba, in a version noted for its percussive sonority while preserving the polyphonic texture of the Baroque. Among the pieces, the Suite No. 1 in G major, BWV 1007, the Suite No. 3 in C major, BWV 1009, and the Suite No. 6 in D major, BWV 1012 stand out.
Recorded at the Espace de projection of IRCAM in Paris in 1998 and 2001, this double CD was released by Skarbo in 2013 and includes a booklet in English and French, with a total duration of 108'45".
Recommended for listeners of Bach and the Baroque who want to hear these suites in an unusual solo version, with the warmth of the marimba.
