«String Quartets Nos. 1, 5 and 6» is the contemporary classical music album by composer Gloria Coates, performed by the Kreutzer Quartet and released on CD by Naxos American Classics in 2002.
The album brings together three string quartets by American composer Gloria Coates, known for her exploration of the glissando as a structural element. The works create dense, enveloping sound textures that move between dissonance and lyricism, with a highly personal contrapuntal language within contemporary music.
