«Starmania» is the album by Michel Berger and Luc Plamondon, released in 1996 by Warner Music France as a remastered double CD.
Set in the futuristic city of Monopolis, Starmania features characters trapped between the craving for fame and the loneliness of an urban society ruled by power. Its songs, between rock and chanson, are a critique of contemporary alienation, and several have become classics of the French repertoire.
The first disc brings together the excerpts performed by Daniel Balavoine, France Gall and Fabienne Thibeault; the second adds the karaoke version. Sung in French, with a duration of 133 minutes.
Aimed at fans of rock opera and French pop, as well as those who want to perform its songs.
