«Spanish Music of the Golden Age 1600-1700» is the classical music album by The Extempore String Ensemble, released in 2002 by Hyperion Records, on CD.
It brings together vocal and instrumental pieces from the Spanish Baroque: works by anonymous composers, José Marín, Gaspar Sanz and Francisco Guerau, with soprano María del Mar Fernández Doval accompanied by The Extempore String Ensemble under the direction of George Weigand.
The programme includes works by Lucas Ruiz de Ribayaz, Juan Hidalgo and Juan de Celis; the cover shows the Helios logo.
It will appeal to fans of the Spanish Baroque and of 17th-century vocal and instrumental music.
