«Southern Gal» is the solo debut album by American singer Terry Ellis, released in 1995 on Warner, on CD.
The work moves between contemporary R&B and soul, with tracks alternating heartfelt ballads and livelier rhythms. Terry Ellis's performance sustains each cut with a personal, expressive voice, while the polished, restrained production leaves room for lyrics about love, independence, and female strength.
The original edition consists of a single disc and was released on 14 November 1995.
Recommended for listeners of contemporary R&B and nineties soul, with special appeal for fans of female vocalists.
