«Solo» is a Thelonious Monk compilation, released on CD by CBS in 1989.
A compilation of Thelonious Monk on solo piano, with recordings made between 1962 and 1968. The repertoire combines jazz standards with original compositions by Monk himself, and the intimate format allows appreciation of his personal phrasing, sense of rhythm, and way of conversing with himself.
European CD edition from The CBS Jazz Piano Collection; reissue featuring bop and hard bop styles.
For fans of classic jazz and solo piano who want to discover a more introspective side of Thelonious Monk.
