«Smokey Joe's Cafe: The Songs of Leiber and Stoller» is the original Broadway cast album, released in 1995 by Sba, on CD.
The show does not follow a narrative thread: its 39 songs are distributed among the performers in various combinations and without dialogue. The Leiber and Stoller repertoire alternates rock and roll, rhythm and blues, and ballads, with numbers such as «Yakety Yak», «Hound Dog» and «Spanish Harlem».
The edition consists of two discs and the songs are performed in English.
Recommended for fans of Broadway musicals and recordings of their original casts.
