«Sinfonia Buenos Aires / Bandoneon Concerto» is the classical music album by Astor Piazzolla, released in 2010 by Naxos on CD.
The CD brings together the Sinfonia Buenos Aires, the bandoneon concerto 'Aconcagua' and Las Cuatro Estaciones Porteñas, in the arrangement by Leonid Desyatnikov for violin and strings. The symphony showcases Piazzolla's symphonic tango; the concerto alternates drama and virtuosity, and the Seasons evoke the atmospheres of Buenos Aires with echoes of Vivaldi.
Naxos catalogue: 8.572271. Recorded at the Laura Turner Concert Hall (Schermerhorn Symphony Center), Nashville, on 21 and 22 November 2009. Total duration: 79:38.
For fans of classical music and symphonic tango, especially those seeking Piazzolla's work for bandoneon and orchestra.
