«Silk Road Vol. 1 & 2» is Kitaro's double album, released in 2002 by Kuckuck Records on CD.
It brings together the two volumes Kitaro devoted to the ancient Silk Road, with instrumental pieces of ambient electronic and new age music. The synthesizers and unhurried melodies evoke caravans, deserts and skies of Central Asia, turning the listening experience into a serene and evocative sonic journey.
The material comes from volumes 1 and 2, originally released in 1981; this 2002 two-disc edition carries the reference 12051-2.
For fans of Japanese new age and ambient electronic music seeking relaxing and evocative instrumental music.
