«Sextet & Octet» is a jazz compilation by trumpeter Clark Terry, released in 2010 by Fresh Sound Records on CD.
The album brings together two sessions recorded in 1963 in which Clark Terry leads a sextet and an octet, with Ben Webster, Ray Bryant, Seldon Powell, Gene Bertoncini, Dave Bailey, Major Holley and Roger Kellaway. Terry alternates trumpet and flugelhorn in warm swing, with arrangements that leave room for the soloists.
This remastered CD edition recovers two recordings originally released by Cameo-Parkway in 1963.
For jazz collectors and listeners seeking the classic swing sound and Clark Terry's trumpet.
