«Seven» is the album by Zap Mama, released in 1997 by Emd Int'l, on CD.
Seven develops a sound that combines Zap Mama's vocal harmonies with band arrangements: guitars, bass and saxophone join African rhythms and reggae. The influence of King Sunny Ade and a nod to a reggae classic set the tone. It is a vocal work, though there are no exclusively a cappella tracks.
CD edition with 1 disc; catalogue code 7243 8 42816 2 5. The album falls within genres such as electronic, hip-hop, reggae, funk and jazz.
Aimed at listeners of world music and pop with African roots, as well as fans of vocal harmonies.
