«Schumann: Symphonies Nos. 2 & 3 'Rhenish'» is the album by Schumann with the London Philharmonic Orchestra and Kurt Masur, released in 2003 by Teldec Apex on CD.
The album contains two symphonies by Robert Schumann: Symphony No. 2 and Symphony No. 3 'Rhenish', in performances by the London Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Kurt Masur. The 'Rhenish' owes its nickname to the Rhine and represents the composer's romantic orchestral world; the Second complements the programme with its symphonic writing.
Released on 31 March 2003 in Europe, this CD is a reissue from the Apex/Teldec catalogue, within Warner Classics distribution, with recordings by Kurt Masur and the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
For classical music enthusiasts, especially those interested in romantic symphonic performances and recordings by Kurt Masur with the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
