«Schubert: Death and the Maiden» is the double album by Franz Schubert that Decca released on CD in 1997.
The album brings together Schubert's chamber music: the string quartets D887 and D810, the latter known as «Death and the Maiden» for its variation on the eponymous lied, along with the String Quintet D956 and the Quartettsatz. It is a double recording that shows the composer's maturity.
The album was released on 14 January 1997 and consists of two CDs; it belongs to the Double Decca series.
