«Sax a la Carter» is the jazz album by the Benny Carter Quartet, reissued on CD by Blue Note Records in 2004.
Benny Carter leads a quartet and turns the alto saxophone into the main voice of a repertoire that moves between swing and soul-jazz. The elegant, measured performances show the rapport of the rhythm section and preserve the warmth of the original sessions, defining Benny Carter's characteristic sound.
Reissue of an album, remastered and with bonus tracks, within Blue Note Records' Capitol Jazz line.
Reissue aimed at classic jazz collectors and listeners seeking a careful edition of Benny Carter's recordings.
