«Romantic Classics» is the album by Peter Tchaikovsky, released in 1998 by Weton-Wesgram on CD.
The programme combines the solemn overture «1812» with a suite from Swan Lake: it includes the waltz, the dance of the swans and the Hungarian dance, as well as several scenes from the ballet. The performances are by the Philharmonic Orchestra and the North German Philharmonic Orchestra.
The catalogue reference is PAL 505D and the edition, distributed in the UK and Europe, includes seven tracks conducted by Roland Antonesen and Hans-Jürgen Walther.
For classical music listeners who want a first approach to Tchaikovsky's orchestral repertoire.
