«Rest» is the fourth studio album by Charlotte Gainsbourg, released in 2017 by ADA on CD.
The album combines electronic pop with unsettling atmospheres; SebastiAn's production evokes Giorgio Moroder and 1970s horror soundtracks. Gainsbourg wrote all the lyrics, which address grief over her father, Serge Gainsbourg, and her sister Kate Barry, shyness, and childhood fears.
It was released on 17 November 2017 and includes collaborations with Paul McCartney, Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, Connan Mockasin and Owen Pallett. The songs are in English and French.
For listeners of electronic pop with unsettling atmospheres and fans of Charlotte Gainsbourg.
